Styrene plastic slot car body kit. This car shares the same wheelbase as many popular cars. As a chassis you can use the Pioneer Dodge Charger, Scalextrics Dodge Charger, or the Carrera Charger/Road Runner chassis. The Carrera Torino has the same wheel base but has a wider front wheel track. It will fit but is very close to rubbing. I am the Torino chassis on my own #48 car. I often just hot glue the chassis under the body.
Best fit is the Pioneer charger, and there are new ones available in the shop. These were custom configured by Pioneer. There is a street version with rear exhaust, mags, and BF Goodrich tires. The race version has side exhaust, Goodyear tires, and black wheels. Minior surgery on this chassis and it will get you running.
This kit will require some work to fit any of the above chassis. The front lower spoiler on this car often interferes with the mounting posts on the chassis. With a little trimming I have managed to fit it to several chassis with good results.
The parts will require some flash removal and work, but an average modeler should be able to get good results. I am quite happy with the ones I am running around the track.
Parts are included that will allow the construction of a Cyclone, Cyclone GT, Cyclone Spoiler, and Cyclone race versions.
Street decals are included, but you may request a swap at no charge for a set of race decals. I have printed out the #21, #48, and #92 decal sets. The #21 will require masking to make the car two-tone. The others are single color cars so much easier to paint. If you do not ask for race decals your kit will ship with street decals. Street decals have 1970 and 1971 versions of Cyclone stripes along with a few customization options.
